June 2021
Dear Patients and Colleagues,
Our office re-opened for periodontal treatment and routine hygiene bookings. The safety of our patients and staff is our top priority during this pandemic. We continue to maintain additional screening and office protocols which are designed to keep everybody safe.
Continuing to follow preventative measures to reduce risk and prevent the spread of COVID-19, we have made a few changes within the clinic and appointment procedures:
1. LESS APPOINTMENT BOOKINGS AND STAFF
We will temporarily be scheduling fewer appointments and staffing at lower levels to ensure that there is manageable space within the clinic for as much safe social distancing as possible. Our update office hours are Monday to Thursday, 8 am – 4:30 pm.
2. PATIENT ASSESSMENTS
All patients will complete adn advanced pre-screen and in office screening on the day of their appointment. Assessments will ensure we are reducing any risk of introducing COVID-19 into the clinic. Should an individual screen positive, their appointment will be rescheduled.
3. IN OFFICE AIR FILTRATION
We have installed Surgical Clean Air Purifiers. These medical grade air purification systems use a multi-stage air purifying technology, including proprietary HEPA-RX filters and UV lights to work together to clean, purify and re-energize the indoor air. The purifiers:
- Remove dust and pollen that affects allergies
- Kill germs and viruses that make people sick
- Eliminate odors and VOCs that irritate people
- Re-energize stale indoor air to make breathing easier
- Circulate and cleans the air in several cycles throughout the day
4. ADDITIONAL IN OFFICE CHANGES
- Front Desk Contact: A plexiglass barrier is now installed between our front desk team and all patients.
- Billing: Contactless payment (mastercard, visa, debit) are preferred over cash.
5. APPOINTMENT DAY PROCEDURE CHANGES
To reduce any risk, we will be requesting that all patients following these precautionary steps on the day of your appointment:
- Waiting: Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment. We encourage you to call from your vehicle or from the lobby when you have arrived. This helps us with maintaining social distancing if you’re early for your appointment.
- Staff Preparedness: Our team will be wearing enhanced PPE and following enhanced sanitization procedures. Please know that our entire team is doing daily screenings and temperature checks prior to arriving to work. We are following all required guidelines from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and Public Health Ontario as well as implementing additional safety measures.
- Patient Preparedness: Please complete the patient questionnaire prior to your visit and wear a mask to your appointment. Cloth masks are acceptable. You will be screened for COVID-19 on arrival. Screening will involve taking your temperature and asking you a series of questions. If you do not pass screening, you will not be able to go to your appointment and must reschedule by telephone. Please come alone unless you have mobility concerns or require a translator.
- Treatment: After being taken into the treatment room you will be asked to use a pre-rinse to rinse your mouth before your appointment begins.
- Appointment Completion: When your appointment is complete, your mask will be placed on again and will be worn until you have left the clinic.
